SSU Alumni Recognition

Delphine Metcalf-Foster

Delphine received her Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies in 2001, and currently serves as National Commander of California Disabled American Veterans (DAV). A highly decorated combat soldier, including receipt of a Bronze Star, Delphine has also worked as a volunteer at the Mare Island VA clinic. She also shares her experiences with teen moms, hoping to encourage and inspire the next generations of girls and women.

Jong Lee

Jong Lee, who received his bachelor’s degree in Management in 1971, remains a Bay Area leader. Not only did Dr. Lee establish Oakland’s prestigious The Lee Accountancy, but he also remains active in philanthropy and alumni engagement with SSU. He works with the Career Center of the School of Business and Economics and has also established a scholarship in the School for Accounting majors.

Zeynep "Zee" Hakimoglu

As President, CEO, and Chairman of the Board for the communications company ClearOne, Zee is a veteran of the male-dominated world of Silicon Valley, but with her Physics Degree from Sonoma State, and her love of both science and business, she has blazed a trail through which we hope many can and are following.

Natalie Cilurzo

Natalie, Business Administration graduate, is co-owner and President of the Russian River Brewing Company. Natalie and her husband brought years of winemaking experience to the business infamous for its Pliny and Elder and Pliny the Younger IPAs. They are also extremely engaged in community service, helping to raise more than $1M for fire victims and, in 2020, brewing Black Is Beautiful in recognition and honor of Black Lives Matter.
