In support of the California State University (CSU) Inaugural Juneteenth Symposium, Sonoma State University is proud to present “Celebrating Juneteenth: Advancing Black Student Access and Success.” This inaugural event aims to bring awareness of Juneteenth Emancipation Day and to represent the diverse, lived experiences of the Black community at Sonoma State University and within Sonoma County. Participants will use their unified and collective voice to develop a preliminary set of goals, measurable objectives and action steps to advance African American student access and success.
Event Goals
- Celebrate Juneteenth – and the Black community's delayed but ultimate freedom from slavery.
- Represent the diverse, lived experiences of the Black community at Sonoma State University and within Sonoma County.
- Utilize our unified and collective voice to develop a preliminary set of goals, measurable objectives and action steps to advance African American student access and success.
